Looking for a person with a proven track record of sales or specification of architectural lighting controls products. A comprehensive understanding of control platforms and solutions is preferred. This person will work within the agency to grow our controls business and be a technical advocate to speak with any engineer, contractor, distributor, or owner on installation of, specification of, pricing of, and functionality of our control products. Looking for a candidate with an entrepreneurial spirit that has a background in lighting agency sales, engineering, or has worked directly for a controls manufacturer.
This role manages every order from the moment it is received by our sales agency to the moment the ribbon is cut on the project and the lights go on. But in truth, far beyond as this team supports any issues that arise in places our products are installed. The team keeps all parties informed of schedules, working to prevent issues for owners on timing of products arriving to job sites, compatibility within the building envelope, and they work to deliver a solution that meets everyone’s needs. This role requires a high attention to detail, a positive attitude, and must be eager to engage by phone or email.
Visit current or prospective customers to solicit sales of represented lighting and controls manufacturers. Customer base can be narrowed to specifiers (architects, engineers, interior designers), contractors (electrical and general contractors), or distribution (electrical wholesale and showrooms) depending on your strengths. The position includes travel to customer locations to present products, services, and pricing within our territory footprint.
Must be good with numbers and good with people. A history of working in lighting is a huge plus here so have a solid foundation in the market level prices for all types of commercial, residential, and industrial lighting products. This role helps to put together the value of a project and helps to find solutions to fit any budget.
To support current or prospective clients by helping to answer the questions that simply are not readily available, so that could be quoting, explaining how things work, compatibility, lead times, performance criteria, suggesting solutions, helping with building codes, or just general assistance implementing a lighting strategy for customers projects. The job is something different every day but focuses on helping to answer questions and communicate designers needs to our manufacturer partners.
Answering and responding quickly to customer needs, placing orders, and finding solutions to give our customers the best experience possible.
